When the lake of bays association hired me to revamp their site, i knew it would be quite an undertaking. There were many pages involved, with subsections, and I made it my priority to make it as easy as possible for them to edit. I pulled off a few new tricks that I had never done before.
For example, in the subsections, I wanted to include a sidebar widget that would show the other children pages in the same section. I couldn’t find a plugin that had already been made to accomplish this, so on a rainy afternoon, I programmed it myself.
It was also important that the top header of each page be unique. So within wordpress, I used the custom fields functionality to allow the website editor to change the header on a page by page basis. There were also about 50 different headers, and we had stunning images to work with.
LOBA will be editing the site internally, an WordPress is the perfect platform to allow this.
This project was a great challenge, and I’m thrilled with the results.
