When the lake of bays association hired me to revamp their site, i knew it would be quite an undertaking. There were many pages involved, with subsections, and I made it my priority to make it as easy as possible for them to edit. I pulled off a few new tricks that I had never done before.

OneFiftyFive is a Fine Dining Restaurant in Bracebridge, Ontario. It was sometimes challenging to figure out how to combine my own design opinions along with specific design preferences coming from a couple different people involved in the project. But it is very important to me that my client gets exactly what they’re looking for, even if it means multiple design revisions. I am very thrilled with the final results we achieved together.

On Tap is an amazingly talented a capella group from the United States. When they approached me to design their website, they had some specific ideas in mind, such as the “Guest Check” concept in the main menu. I also challenged myself to create their “Listen” page with playable mp3 samples, without the use of Flash. (Adobe Flash is unsupported on many mobile devices, especially the iPhone/iPod/iPad devices. It is important to me to avoid using Flash so that the website can function consistently across all of the newest devices).

Liz Mullan from Carnaross Consulting, approached me to redesign her website that had been offline for some time. The goal was to great a professional web presence, while keeping the cost very reasonable.

An unexpected bonus is that because I work exclusively with WordPress as a content management tool, site updates are very easy for her to do in the future. An amazing thing about doing business in this technology age is that Liz and myself worked on this website without ever meeting in person. All of the work was successfully done over email.

The folks at BaysvileMarina.com approached me to relaunch their existing site. They had a website that was rich with content, but lacked a professional design to do their business justice. I wanted to use a design that was bright and exciting so their visitors could get excited about visiting the marina.

As well as a freelance web designer, I am also a professional musician. I had been drumming in Vivian’s jazz trio for just over a year when she finally decided it was time to upgrade her website. It was an ideal situation, since I understand the music business, and what kind of tone (pardon the pun), she wanted to project on her website.

This beautiful design is a result of Vivian Clement‘s artistic input, as well as my own creative design skills. Because Vivian is such an artistic mind, the layout of this site was quite challenging to implement. Designing the layout in Photoshop is one thing, but the real challenge was turning into a fully-functioning website.

Nope, this isn’t the kind of jam that goes well with peanut butter… this is the kind of jam that will rock your socks off. Every year, Ike Kelneck hosts a music jam, where his musical friends and family come from all over Ontario (and beyond) to participate. Ike needed a website with some character, and I was happy to deliver.

A few years after graduating high school, I was approached by my former music teacher, Jackie Mitchell, to develop a site for her music program. She needed to be able to edit the site herself, and I immediately knew that setting up the site to use WordPress would be an ideal platform.

A few years after I launched Jennifer’s first Appraise Muskoka site, Jennifer approached me to work on a new design. Her business had changed, and rather than just featuring her Appraising services, it was important that we also highlighted her Real Estate and Property Management businesses.

This was a different site to do, because I was working with mostly a monochrome colour palette (or lack thereof!). The overall design concept was provided by Jenn O’Brien (from Royal LePage Lakes of Muskoka), and I turned it into a functioning website.
